The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) is responsible for providing the academic leadership and strategic direction of the journal while ensuring the highest standards of scientific quality, editorial independence, and publication ethics. The Editor-in-Chief oversees the editorial process and is accountable for maintaining the integrity, credibility, and reputation of the journal.
Key Responsibilities
Editorial Leadership
Define the journal's aims, scope, editorial policies, and strategic development in consultation with the publisher and Editorial Board.
Editorial Decision-Making
Make fair, objective, and timely decisions on manuscript acceptance or rejection based solely on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and ethical standards.
Editorial Independence
Ensure that all editorial decisions remain free from commercial, financial, political, or institutional influence.
Peer Review Oversight
Supervise the peer-review process to ensure it is fair, confidential, unbiased, and conducted by qualified reviewers.
Editorial Board Management
Appoint and guide Associate Editors and Editorial Board members, promoting diversity, expertise, and active participation.
Publication Ethics
Address allegations of plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, and other forms of research misconduct in accordance with the journal's ethical policies.
Quality Assurance
Maintain the scientific quality, accuracy, and integrity of all published content and encourage continuous improvement of editorial standards.
Conflict of Interest
Disclose and appropriately manage any personal, professional, or financial conflicts of interest that may affect editorial decisions.
Confidentiality
Protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, reviewer identities (where applicable), and unpublished research throughout the editorial process.
Promotion of the Journal
Support the journal's growth by encouraging high-quality submissions, strengthening international collaborations, and enhancing the journal's academic visibility.
